French Palmiers

Ingredients

  • 1 Package Puff Pastry
  • 1/2 cup Sugar

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle a 1/4 cup of granulated sugar on the Prep Mat. Place the puff pastry on it and roll it out to a 10×12-inch rectangle using a rolling pin. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar over the puff pastry.
  2. Roll up the left vertical side inward, stopping in the middle of the dough. Repeat with the right side, rolling it inward until both rolls meet in the center and touch. Press the two sides together gently. Repeat with any additional puff pastry you may have.
  3. Roll it in the Bonmat and place it in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
  4. Place a BONMAT on a perforated baking sheet.
  5. Remove the BONMAT used for the puff pastry roll. Cut 1/2 inch thick slices. Place them on the baking mat, ensuring they are spaced apart, and bake for 20 minutes at 400°F. Turn them over 3/4 of the way through cooking. Repeat this process with the remaining palmiers.
  6. Place the tray in the middle of the oven and bake at 400°F for about 10-15 minutes, or until the sugar has caramelized.
  7.  Allow the cookies to cool on a rack for 10 minutes.
